Ontario Cervical Screening Program

Better test, less often!

The Ontario Cervical Screening Program (OCSP) is a province-wide screening program run by Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario). The program’s goal is to lower people’s chance of getting or dying from cervical cancer by increasing the number of eligible people with a cervix (including women, Two-Spirit people, transmasculine people and nonbinary people) who get screened regularly and who have timely and appropriate follow-up of abnormal results.

DID YOU KNOW...?

The new cervical screening test:

• Replaces the Pap test because it is better at helping prevent cervical cancer
  
• Checks for types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that can cause cervical cancer
  
• Is only needed every 5 years for most people aged 25 to 69

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

• Make an appointment for your test with your doctor, nurse practitioner, or midwife
• If you do not have a health care provider, dial 811 (TTY 711) or visit Health811.ontario.ca to find a clinic near you, or a clinic that offers tests on 
  evenings or weekends
