Message from Executive Lead, Dr. Kim Morrison
As we approach the holiday season, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we've undertaken together throughout 2023. It has been a year marked by collaboration, dedication, commitment, and perseverance, and I am immensely grateful for the collective efforts that have brought us to this point.
On behalf of the backbone team and personally, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the partners, volunteers, and community members who have played a pivotal role in co-designing a new model of health and wellness. Your time, expertise, ideas, and energy have been invaluable, by placing people, families, and caregivers at the very heart of our evolving health-care system.
This year collective efforts have truly shaped the trajectory of the FLA OHT. I want to highlight three key innovations:
- Through combined dedication and hard work, we successfully launched our five-year strategic plan, "Achieving our best health." This ambitious roadmap is set to radically redesign health care, and I am confident that it will pave the way for transformative improvements in the health and wellness system.
- The Well Baby Care clinic opened, a tangible result of collaborative partnerships. This clinic is now providing essential care to infants who do not have a primary care provider. It stands as a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and ensuring access to health care for all.
- Additionally, the FLA OHT's collective achievements have not gone unnoticed. We were chosen as one of twelve Ontario Health Teams to advance work in selected areas. This recognition speaks volumes about the impact of our collaborative efforts and positions the FLA OHT as leaders in driving positive change within the health-care landscape.
Looking ahead to 2024, I am excited to build on the foundation we've laid and strive towards our shared vision of achieving our best health, together.
