Queen’s Department of Family Medicine
The Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s University invites applications for a Clinical Academic Family Physician with a focus on obstetrics.
Position Summary: This role and the successful incumbent will have experience in low risk primary care obstetrics, including prenatal care, intrapartum care as part of a family medicine obstetrics call group at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, and postpartum care. This position
is to fill an existing vacancy within the University.
The successful incumbent will be positioned within the Queen’s Family Health Organization (FHO). Outpatient clinical responsibilities will be based within the Queen’s Family Health Team (QFHT). Expectations of the successful incumbent include:
- Manage a roster of patients
- Provide Family Medicine & Primary Care
- Provide Obstetrics & Gynecology care
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, midwives, obstetricians and other specialists
- Participate in both family medicine and obstetric call groups
- Mentor, supervise, and assess medical residents and students
- Demonstrate procedural and surgical skills
- Participate in faculty development sessions, continuing medical education, quality improvement initiatives and Research Day activities
