Position: We are currently accepting applications from dynamic and enthusiastic locum physicians who are interested in joining our academic Family Health Team. Locum coverage is needed for both short-term and long-term leaves.

As we are an academic family health team, locum responsibilities include both patient care and resident supervision

Locums may cover “faculty only clinics” where they are only seeing patients themselves, or “resident supervision clinics” where they are observing and supporting resident physicians

Most appointments are booked for 30 minutes (60 minutes for forms and procedures)

Dedicated blocks in the schedule to allow for reviewing with residents

Support and mentorship is available to new grads
- Compensation: 575$ per half day clinic + inbox (625$ for July & August). Long-term locums receive 3rd party billings.

The Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s University is a fully accredited and award-winning program that provides inter-professional clinical care at our Queen’s Family Health Team (QFHT). QFHT serves as the primary teaching site for approximately 50 first-year family medicine residents. It is comprised of 24 physicians and a robust team of allied health professionals and support staff who are committed to delivering quality care to more than 20,000 active patients in the Kingston area.

- INR management
- Foot care
- Pharmacist support
- Dietitian
- Shared Care Psychiatry
- Mental health counselling
- Community Care Navigation
- Obstetrics, prenatal care, and lactation support
- Smoking cessation
- Well baby and well child programs
- Referrals assistance
