Indigenous Health Day - understanding, respecting and transforming care
This full-day gathering brings together healthcare professionals, community members, educators, students, and others interested in Indigenous health and wellbeing. Grounded in Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and lived experience, the program follows the human life journey—from birth and adolescence through adulthood, aging, and end-of-life care.
The day begins with a traditional opening and drumming and explores important topics including:
- The impacts of colonialism and pathways toward reconciliation
- Indigenous approaches to care across the lifespan
- Mental health, chronic disease, aging, and end-of-life care
The program concludes with a Closing Sharing Circle and Call to Action.
We hope you will join us for this meaningful day.
