Bridges Out of Poverty training is an international interactive virtual workshop to help create communication bridges across economic populations. The training is intended for service providers and those wanting to build an understanding of Poverty and the hidden rules of classes.

By looking at the community through the triple lenses of Individuals, Community and Systems, we can better understand the situation of poverty. We will spend the day learning about what it means to live in poverty, by exploring various concepts, ideas, and tools, in a series of activities and breakout rooms.

Objectives:

  • explore the hidden rules of economic class,
  • create mental models of poverty and middle class,
  • use Bridges concepts to assist in building communication strategies to enhance relationships with the individuals we support and to challenge our perspectives
  • examine resources in the community that support low-income households.
